“Hmm, that’s unfortunate with what’s happening with your climbing roses. I don’t know what they look with the callus but if there’s at least some roots give it time. As for fantastic plants I plan to try and explore other worlds since Xion seemed to be fine while doing so. My first stop is the deep jungle, there’s rumored an interesting flower that can tell when heartless are about and I plan to try and get either cuttings or seeds.”
“Repliku! I want you to test this out!” Vexen excitedly waved a vile in front of Repliku’s face. “I think that I’ve finally done it!”
Repliku looked worryingly at the vile. “Done what?”
Vexen shoved the vile into the replica’s hand. “Just drink it! Even if it fails you’ll be fine. I built you nice and sturdy!”
“Uh… what!? If it fails?!” Repliku tried to give the vile back but Vexen insisted that he drink it.
“Go on, go on!” He was far too excited for the replica’s liking. He drank the vile anyway and didn’t feel anything change.
“Was something supposed to happen? I don’t feel any different…” The replica looked at himself.
“Damn! I thought that I had finally figured out the growing potion!” Vexen slammed his fist on his desk. It was at that moment that everything hit Repliku at once.
He suddenly felt dizzy and a tingling feeling all over.
“Uh, Vexen? I think something is happening!” The replica immediately started to grow, but slowly. Vexen gulped and immediately pulled the replica outside where he continued to grow and grow.
“It worked! It really worked! You’re growing!” Tears welled up in Vexen’s eyes. He had finally figured out the formula for the growing potion.
The commotion drew the attention of the other Tinies. They gathered around growing replica with awe. Vexen ran back into his lab.
“MY BABY IS GROWING UP!” Roxas shouted as he watched Repliku grow. He was almost full height again.
Repliku was worried that he’d end up stepping on them. They all gave him room as he knelt down after being full size again. He halfheartedly smiled.
“We’re all going to be normal sized again, isn’t that wonderful?” He tried to hide his sadness. He knew things wouldn’t be the same when they were all fully grown again.
Vexen walk out sullen faced. “No… we won’t be.”
“Huh, what do you mean?” One of the Tines asked.
“Why won’t we be?” Another one asked.
“I-I forgot to write down the ingredients.” He covered his hands with his face. “I was too excited about mixing them and they had to be done fast and I…”
Marluxia put his arm around Vexen. Repliku looked horror stricken. He quickly regained composure even though he realized that he would have to leave his family forever.
“Well, it looks like I’m not a part of this family anymore.” He choked a little, knowing that this was the end of his time with them.
“You’re not leaving this family. Even if you are no longer there, you’re still important to me. You’re still a part of this family. We’ll still stay in contact with you, you got that? We still care.” Roxas tried to bite back the tears but couldn’t help but start sobbing. Axel held onto him and rubbed his back.
A few of the Tines tried to hide their tears. Demyx sunk to the ground and started bawling, comforted by Zexion who was trying to be brave and hold back his own tears.
Marluxia and Vexen held onto Lilium who was confused, afraid, and sad about her literally big brother kneeling before them. She wasn’t sure what was going on but she knew that she wouldn’t be able to play with her big brother Ku anymore. She started crying and Marluxia scooped her up in his arms and held her close. Tears fell from his eyes and Vexen held onto them, knowing that it was his fault.
Some of the Tinies weren’t so sad at all. Repliku was leaving and that was that. It was one less person in the Tiny house. That’s all there was to it. Each of them dealt with the loss in their own way. Some would miss Repliku, others would not.
But when it was all over there would be one empty room in the house that would never be filled again. One less voice to fill the hallways. One less person to joke with. One less person to create memories with.
But it didn’t mean that everything that happened would go away. Some may forget with time, but others would still hold onto it. Wishing that he never left. But it was going to happen eventually. Everything leaves with time. It’s what you do when it’s gone that is really important.
And maybe one day they’ll realize just what had left them.
Repliku walked away from the Tiny house with tears in his eyes. He went back out into the world knowing that he had no friends left there. But he would go and find some new friends. Ones that could care for him like some of the others had and accept him as their own.
It wasn’t the end of his journey.
It was only the beginning.
(I’ll be typing up my OOC farewell after I get home from school. I’ll reblog this later for the day people.)
